Expo 89 - Ceci n'est pas une pipe

Why “after”? This print is an interpretive artwork: it was drawn by another artist — often a master lithographer — after an artwork by René MAGRITTE. When artists engrave or draw the stone or the plate themselves, the result is an original artwork.
